Nazca Lines Flight Accidents and Updated Safety Protocols

There have indeed been problems with flight safety in the past on the Nazca Lines. In February 2010, seven people died when a light aircraft having tourists on it, crashed.

But after this accident, the Peruvian government made a quick plan of action and discontinued all flights over the Nazca Lines. After ultra-careful safety inspections, only four flight agencies, and 7 out of 48 planes, were authorized to continue their services. There have been great enhancements in principle from then.

There have been two more accidents since these safety measures were introduced. In October 2010, four British travelers and two Peruvian pilots died in another crash, After more than ten years without any deadly crashes, a plane with five tourists and two crew members crashed in February 2022, and nobody survived.
